Gryphon's Aeire
Tip - Fruit Flies
I know that "fruit flies in the kitchen" sounds like you and your mate
had a spirited discussion about the car payments and the kids' college
fund. Sometimes, however, you find a haze of small bugs flying around
over your fruit basket. If you're like me they might get a
finger-nail hold on the grunge behind the tap, the underside of the
fridge, and other places which have enough calories to keep the pesky
little critters flying.
The good news is that when the seasons change, they will all go away
until next year. Here's how you hasten their departure: leave a plate
with a thin layer of any heavily sugared alcoholic beverage on it -
Guinness, Campari, any sherry or port, '63 was a good year for both -
around where they live. They love the smell, they fall in and drown.
You just wash them down the drain in the morning. Put out another
plate... In about three days they're gone.
