Here is a little about wines:

There are two brands – Cella, at $6.99 or Reunite at $9.00.

There are many California brands and prices range from $3.99 to $12.00.

It may be difficult to find and is best when the wine is young.
Do not buy any bottled older than 2001.

Muscat – A slightly sweet pink wine, nicely fruity, this wine is big in Napa
and very popular with most of the wineries. Prices range from $4.99 to $15.99.

Syrah – A full-bodied red, dense, inky and intense, it exhibits classic flavors
of blueberries and spice. Dick feels this is best at the $20 level.

Pinot Noir – A light red wine, sometimes with a hint of blue.
Flavors of dark cherries and linden. Check out the Australian wines.
They are priced at about $10.00.

Sangiovese – This medium body wine is similar to Chianti with flavors of red
fruits. It is just gaining popularity in the Napa Valley and would be a good
new wine to serve. Priced at $12.00.

B&G Pale Dry Sherry – This is a classic Sherry, always a good way to start the
evening. It is also a very nice way to introduce Sherry to the uninitiated.

Semillon – A moderate bodied wine, light golden to clear in color.
Aromas of figs and orange marmalade. Some of the Northwest wineries are
producing it and also the Australians. Prices range from $8.00 domestic
to $16.00 imported.

Pinot Blanc – A clear to light golden wine, crisp and clean, with little aroma.
The best is from Alsace or Germany, but a few domestic wineries also make it.
It is worth the cost for the imports at $12.00 to $18.00.

Rosι – This wine has lost some popularity, but is still a favorites.
It is a light and fruity wine priced from $6.00 to $12.00.

Gamay Beaujolais – This is one of the most admired French wines.
It is a medium body red, best served when very young – six months to one year.
This delightfully fruity red wine with flavors of the grape and berries is
priced from $12.00 to $45.00.

White Merlot – A medium body pink, this wine has all of the character of a
fine red wine without the heaviness. You will taste the classic Merlot flavors
with a hint of fruit. Prices vary with the brand, from as low as $6.00 to $25.00.

B&G Cream Sherry – This is a sweet dessert wine with all of the flavors of a
fine Portuguese Sherry. Priced at around $9.00.

Ficklin Port – Dick finds this wine to be his choice for a nice sipping wine.
It is very sweet with the typical heavy body of an imported Port Wine.
It is priced at around $12.00.

With fruit and cheese, the German Riesling, Mosell and Rhone wines can be used
as dessert wines and are favored by many people over the sweet Cream Sherry or
the heavy Port. They are all light sweet wines with a great deal of fruity flavor.
They are easy to find and quite inexpensive.
